    Free to use, the ball diamond is only a three minute walk from 40 Winks. Bring your ball glove and have some fun!

    40 Winks offers it's own net for shooting hoops but if you're looking for a court, this one is located at the playground and park, about a two minute walk from 40 Winks.

    The gardens at the park are beautiful and worth stopping to enjoy. The art is in honour of the nurses at the First Red Cross Outpost in Ontario. Which is now a museum at the other side of 40 Winks.

    Sit and enjoy a good book plus find FREE access to computers and wifi at the library. You can even print something for a small fee. The library is about a five minute walk from 4 Winks. Walk the circle around town and the library is the half way mark.

    The Community Centre is the venue for most events. The sign out front and posters around town will let you know what's happening. It is a beautiful building and available for rent.

    Only a two minute walk from 40 Winks, the park is located in the centre of town at the community centre, across from the arena, in front of the ball diamond, beside the tennis courts and basketball court!

    Take a two minute stroll north of 40 Winks and you're see this on the lawn of one of the houses on your right. The house is now a museum and well worth visiting.

    Now a museum and National Historic Site, the outpost welcomes visitors to view the displays of artifacts and learn of the contribution the Red Cross nurses made in Wilberforce at the very first Red Cross Outpost in Ontario

    A five minute walk to the dam is a great stroll down a quiet, dead end road.

    Cross the dam and follow the short path to the old mine. Please respect this private property and only view the ruins and find the geocache!
  18. Shopping
    Browse Agnew's General Store directly across the road. It offers great shopping if you're looking for giftware and clothing as well lots of treats including fudge and the ice cream shop! You'll also find a few groceries, a full line of hardware and a post office.

Walk to everything

40 Winks Guest House is in the heart of the hamlet.  Safely stroll anywhere, any time of day or night. Folks are friendly and helpful. Chat with the locals and enjoy the pace of country living.

Stay at 40 Winks and easily walk to everything the community offers. 

Directly across the street you'll find your hosts amids a one stop shopping experience.  "Everything from Soup to Nuts" Agnew's store has it all.  A full line hardware store, clothing and gifts, ice cream shop, garden centre, convenience groceries, geocaching supplies and even a full service post office.  

The grocery store, bank and LCBO/Beer store are all very close and just up the road you'll find a library and a school.

Look to your right for the restuarant, gas station, bait shop and pharmacy. Walking to your left will take you to the church, the First Cross Outpost Hospital Museum and the closest public dock.

You're only a two minute walk to the playgound and park with the ball diamond, tennis courts and basketball courts.  The community centre, curling club and arena are all right there too! Watch a few ends at the curling club or join a bonspeil.

You can public skate for free at the arena on Sundays from 12:30 to 2pm during the winter or rent an hour for yourselves. Summer brings ball hockey and roller skating. 

Even the Royal Canadian Legion is within walking distance. It's little farther up the road but well worth it for a game of pool and a cold beer!

Being in the middle of the Geocaching Capital of Canada, you can be sure to find many caches within walking distance including a few very cool night caches!
